    Potty Training

Does anyone have experience using EFT to accelerater potty training?  We have twins who will be 3 this month.  I want something that is encouraging, loving, educational, accepting without any type of negative reinforcement.   Ayni ( Quesha Peruvian Indian Principle that means, in part, "Reciprocity, total trust and connection for health and healing."  It is the name for my awesome therapy dog.

    Re: Potty Training

    Hello,

The pediatric nurse in me wants to say that being supportive with positive reinforcement for using the potty and frequent scheduled potty times will ultimately get your desired outcome.  Consider surrogate tapping for the twins to use the potty when they feel the urge.  I have no personal experience using EFT for potty training, however, my advice to parents who are dealing with their children's mastering of developmental milestones is to tap for their own frustration/anxiety. Nature will take its own course in its own time.  Continue to be loving and supportive.  With twins who are nearly 3, I know what a blessing life without diapers will be for you.

    Happy Tapping!

    Re: Potty Training

    Hi Ayni,

In my experience with using EFT for potty training, I generally use the following language...

afraid to use the potty, afraid that I will fall in, I don't want to be a big-boy/girl, I don't want to have to use the potty, what if mommy leaves me on the potty too long (this usually happens when the child is on the potty and the parent walks out of the room or gets a phone call, causing the child to feel "stuck" there), I can't do it, I won't make it on time, etc.

Often children don't express their 'fears' about using the potty, be positive and supportive of all their accomplishments!

Best wishes and be sure to report back how it is going.
