    Bringing EFT into Schools

As practitioners, what is the best way to bring EFT into schools?

What have been your experiences working with students directly and what issues would you work on?

    Thank you for your input!

    Re: Bringing EFT into Schools

    Sue,

Talks have had with teachers suggests that going under the radar of administrators is the surest, most helpful way to effectively introduce EFT into the school environment. That doesn't mean that teachers can't be approached, or that groups of teachers, their prinicipals and PTA members can't be presented with the basics of EFT for young people in their care, but it will take testing and accreditation before the system will sanction anything as progressive and outside of mainstream health care as EFT. For now, individual teachers who find EFT discover its value and will share what works for them with their peers. With so many resources being cut from the public school systems and as one moderator in the Teacher's discussion put it, "....EFT is like having an assistantin the classroom."

My own belief is that young people must be introduced to EFT as a self help tool they can learn and apply themselves in a supportive environment. Schools, youth groups and other collectives where young people gather to learn or play would be the natural places to do that introductory work. You might want to pose your questions to the Teacher's Discusssion forum as I know the forum moderators and some of the members there will be interested to respond to you. One of the goals of these forums is to indentify needs and target new training and awareness materials for specific communities of interest.

    Be well,

    Eric

    "testing and accreditation "

Do you see that happening?  I long to bring EFT to the classrooms in my high school. I have effectively used it with a handful of students, with great results.  So approaching teachers is the way to go?  I am tempted, since I am part of the admin team (Im a Dean), to do a short EFT presentation to small breakout groups at preplanning this coming school year.

    Re: Bringing EFT into Schools

John, re: testing and accreditation, Dawson Church is collecting case studies for a data base that will comply with scientific testing and recording protocols. This is in the early stages, but defititely formal testing and record keeping is and will be a major compoent in taking  EFT the mainstream population through formal medical and administrative controls. The web site for this preliminary case gathering process is www.casehistorydatabase.org

I'm not a teacher and I encourage you to dialogue with teachers in that Discusssion forum about this, but certainly respectfully introducing the technique  and providing some guidance to those interested in exploring EFT in the classrooms of your school would be an appreciated resource for those teachers receptive to learning what can only help them and their students.

Again, the key is to respect where the individuals are and start there. It isn't our place to force feed EFT or any healing protocol on others. They are where they are for all the reasons we know about as we 'peel back the layers of the onion' to their resistance and we need to tap on ourselves first if that reality strikes us as wrong or needing to be changed.

You are in a great position to provide awareness of EFT to your staff and their students - good luck and please keep us all informed of your work in that regard.

    Be well,

    Eric
