    resources for teachers

The goal of eft4Kids is to become a permanent, interactive resource for parents as well as teachers, coaches, youth leaders and others who care for kids. We are among a still small, but growing number of resource providers looking to introduce EFT as a viable tool for use with young people.

Our Practitioner's Forum moderators are the authors of two excellent works on EFT and kids: Nurse Crilly’s "Tap It and Zap It!" and “Tap into Joy” by Sue Busen. Both of these pioneering works on this topic and should be must reading and reference guides for everyone who believes in EFT. A new eBook that talks to EFT from a school perspective is “School Made Much Easier” by Paul Widdershoven.

Parents and educators will find a wealth of ideas for using EFT with your young people in these texts. I hope readers and contributors to these forums will also see the need to support and promote those working in this sector. Acquire copies of these important guides, point your colleagues, parents and administrators to them too, but most importantly, learn from the guidance provided by these passionate, skilled experts - offer EFT to students to also use on their own. These books and eft4Kids will provide you with tips and examples for the serious and the joyous applications of this phenomenal tool for kids.

    Be well,

    Eric

    Re: resources for teachers

Eric, I am a substitute teacher for grades pre-k through 12. I am also using EFT for personal growth, but need some guidance for use in the classrooms. Since I usually am in the class for only one day at a time, then on to a different class, it is hard for me to establish a rapport that will allow for introducing EFT. It is pretty well known that (some) students are put off by substitutes, not wanting to do their work without the stability in the classroom that their regular teacher provides. Though I prefer to spend my time actually teaching, quite often I encounter "problem" kids who choose to act out because I don't know them as well as their regular teacher. Do you or any others have suggestions for me? Last year, I started tapping on myself as I drove to my appointed classroom to relieve the stress and anxiety of facing a new group of kids. That helped me, but I would like to help the kids, and would like to know if anyone knows how to calm down an overactive kindergarten group, or rebellious teenagers in high school? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, I love that you are tapping on yourself. That definitely is a plus!

I would think it might be fairly easy to tap with the kinder group because they generally do a lot of songs with hand motions as part of their regular day. You might write some EFT set-ups and phrases to go along with a tune they are familiar with (such as "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star") and get them to do the tapping with you. You don't even have to explain really what you are doing. My guess is they will love it. As a matter of fact, I think I will use that approach with my own kinders. My situation is different than yours, because I see my children on a regular basis; nevertheless, I think this might be a great way to use EFT with kinders.

Teenagers are more difficult since you don't have much time with them. Perhaps you might use it individually with a student who seems to be having a hard day, if you can arrange some privacy. You might also tapping surrogately for some of your more difficult students.

    Good luck!

Thank you, Sylvia. School here in Central Illinois starts usually around the third week in August, so I look forward to trying your ideas. I will try to let you know what results I get. Sheri

    Re: resources for teachers

mrsclift, you'll likely receive and find many suggestions for working with the student groups you encounter as a substitute teacher. I just want to encourage you that substitute, or not, you'll gift your students with a tool that might very well be the most important lesson in their lives if you can "teach" them to understand their lives through EFT. Classrooms, like every other institution  are changing and  what kids need to learn today isn't yet found in their standard texts or curriculum. Congratulations on making your important contributions and please keep us informed of your progress.

    Be well,

    Eric

     Eric:

Where can I find the ebook?  I have preplanning coming up and maybe can use it to present EFT to the school SAFE department.
