    sleep

I know a 10 year old boy who has a great deal of trouble getting to sleep even though he taps on it frequently. Any suggestions?

                Thanks,

                Kenneth

One thought that comes to mind is what are the gains, the advantages of him having trouble getting to sleep?

Identify those and tap on those underlying issues and see what comes up ....

    Hello Kenneth,

One needs to know if this sleeping difficulty is a recent development.  Is it a chronic, infrequent or a periodic occurrence?  Does he sleep well once he goes to sleep or does he awaken during the night and have difficulty falling back to sleep?

Tapping for sleep problems is quite effective.  Sometimes just tapping for 'I choose to fall asleep easily and quickly" for a few rounds often does the trick.  This boy may have things weighing on his mind.  They may be seemingly insignificant to us or he may have some very serious core issues that need addressing.

To paraphrase the tenet of Occam's Razor, "All things being equal, the simplest solution tends to be the best one."  I suggest looking for the obvious or simplest and working from there.

    Food for thought.

    Happy Tapping!

    Re: sleep

Part of the beauty of EFT is that one does not have to analyze the why of an emotion/symptom, just needs to recognize it or the situation and tap on that.  I hope we are all careful to not take a perfectly simple tool and make it so complicated it scares people away or discourages them. Bottom line is, it doesn't matter why a 10 year old is not going to sleep if one generalizes the tapping to address "whatever this thing is that is keeping me from falling asleep".  The 10 year old does not even have to know the "thing" in his awake mind.  His other levels of consciousness will get it. And so will yours if you are tapping surragately. Everything is connected!
