Working with ADHD +menthaly disabled children

According to Don Blackerby the first step to start with ADD or ADHD children to help them to concentrate. Otherwise the sessions will be more struggle . He is absolutely right- how I usulally start with these kind of kids is to find out, what makes them deconcentrated so easily. I use NLP for that part. Then after I can start working with them.  Even this is not always so easy.

Recently I got a girl 10 years old who has all the sympthoms of ADHD + can not read and write hardly at all. The doctors said she was menthaly slightly disabled.

My question is: Had anyone such a child? How she/he dealt with her/him? We get along well each other, but she is ok for tapping only for 5-sec-30 sec. Than she can not pay attention at all. When she is at the session we play, we have fun, but sometimes she gets bored very easily. How can help to teach her to concentrate,  when she is not able to answer for my qouestions?

I am aware that is  a long run. I keep tapping...

I am couriously waiting for your ideas. (My message may not be a proper  English- sorry- I am a Hungarian EFT Practitioner:)

    Hello Peter,

Your post was well written.  I learned from EFT Master, Loretta Sparks, that using the Collar Bone Breaqthing Technique at the startof a session can greatly enhance focus in a child or adult with ADD or ADHD as well as with addiction issues.  To learn this technique, look in Gary Craig's downloadable manual or find it in his first set of DVDs.  It takes a little practice for you to deliver a smooth explanation/demonstration of this technique.  I have tried it on myself and found it to be helpful and well worth the effort.  Let us know how it works for you.

    Happy Tapping!

Hi, BarbaraD here in US. I am a clinical social worker. I am new to EFT and just started using it with the kids I see. I have started doing it in my car with two brothers ages 8 and 10, both slightly MR and ADHD. One maybe has Aspergers. They sit beside me in the front seat. There are very few distractions  and when their focus drifts, I just keep persisting. I can see a noticeable change in becoming more calm. I used it yesterday before school on one who maybe broke his wrist. There appeared to be a reduction in pain as well. Don't give up, this is wonderful.

    Hi Peter,

It may be helpful to tap with her on "being bored/tapping is boring/it's no fun/I can't possibly tap for five more minutes, I'll never be able to keep tapping for one more round, it is impossible, etc."  Sometimes when the phrases start to sound a little far fetched, it starts to seem a little funny and then will keep their interest a little longer.

Good luck, Peter and let us know how you make out.
