9 yr. old Recovering from Abuse and Neglect

Hi All I am writing this to give anyone who needs it hope that we can help children heal from the worst. This kind of therapy used to take years, now it takes months. We are just beginning. This is our third session. J. is nine years old and has been with his adoptive parents for two years. He was abused in all ways, and abandoned and neglected by his addicted birth parents. His adoptive parents are devoted to his healing-- "helping him be normal" is their greatest wish. Although he acts out and is angry at home and at school, in the playroom where I do eft with kids his play is subdued and exhibits the underlying grief. When i sense that then we tap together regarding the grief. The other day his adoptive mother joined us as he tapped, and he collapsed into an infant place-- the age when his birth mother left. His adoptive mother held him and i guided her to tap for him. He cried, she tapped, I breathed and prayed. He sat up, he cried again. He said, "I remember being four and R., my Dad's girlfriend, telling me that she was not my real Mom." Adoptive Mom tapped, and I held the sacred space. Toward the end of the session his energy and demeanor was still fragile. I said can you make a force field around you for you to feel safe. he closed his eyes and said he was making three forcefields. He was less angry the next week. We are continuing to work with the little ones within the forcefields. Feedback? We at EFT4 Kids prefer that you get the help of an EFT mental health professional to do regression work. Re: 9 yr. old Recovering from Abuse and Neglect

    Hi Mary,

Thank you for sharing this case with us. I have found that in working with almost any issue, clients will regress back to that point in their life where they need to heal. It is one of the most wonderful things about EFT. In my experience working with abuse, neglect, and abandonment issues,  I am amazed at how quickly EFT helps to resolved those issues. I just wish everyone knew about it and trusted it enough to give it a try.

While it does not relate directly to EFT, I liked your use of the force field and could imagine a young boy would really relate to it, visualize it and create it (like Star Wars). Afterall, it is all about healing and protecting the energy.  Keep up the great work!

    Keep tapping,
