Anxiety with a 12 old girl

HI- I am brand new here.I am a mom of a great 12 year old girl. She has been on Prozac for many years because of anxiety. This was not a easy choice. It was months of therapy-counseling-praying-accupuncture ...you name we tried it.We got 4 diferent opinions from Dr.'s.She has been doing really well, lately the probelm has been-prior to any type of event that gets her nervouse she cries and then cannot stop. She never asks to get out of a situation and she tries very hard to stop.Well in 6th  grade kids notice this and this can be embarrasing- I am sure for her.I only learned at 1 workshop the EFT technique.I guess I would like some help on what points should I work on with her and how could she do the tapping if she is in  a locker room with girls? or on the court? I am such a newbie and I truly think this could be a great new world for her,and maybe even get her off of the meds at some point. So thank you in advance for any help.

     Hi,

it seem that your daughter is open to tapping. If it's to embarrasing to tap openly (teenagers can be very cruel) she could just hold the finger points

on both hands nobody will notice. I do this often during challenging conversations with good results. Get Gary's Manual for a description of those points. I currently have one student who have been also very shy and anxious. She tap's the karate chop point openly in school. Often other kid's imitate her partly out of interest partly to make fun of her. She doesen't bother much anymore. Yet they are all improving ! Even her little brother who joins in when they watch tv has gotten calmer...

You might want to look up the audio-interviews on www.eftrevealed.com for more ideas on issues involved.

Please consult you physician on anything regarding the medication and further treatment.

Tapping on your own fears as a parent might also help the process.

Feel free to contact me if you have questions

All the best to you and your daughter

     Dirk

She could also hold or rub the back of her hand as in the 9 gamut procedure.  Any point that brings her relief, she can press and just breathe which is a bit more subtle than tapping.  She can also rub the KC point instead of tapping.

     How is she doing?

Thanks for the input. She doing really well right now.We went to the accupuncturist and she did a few treatments and treated for hormones and also suggested getting a light for SAD.
I spoke with our Dr.'s regarding other meds. They did try her on new ones, but I feel confident that the Dr.'s here at Childrens Hospital in Seattle - are up on things and they feel that what she is on is perfect for her.Maybe not for another child. She is funny -shen she gets nervous she cries-yet she is on the court with a tie game in her glory!! Or she is the first one to start chapel during chapel time at school.Go figure:)I should point out. That she does not cry daily or constant. She cries when she is hitting a panic  mode. That is her way -we have met children that get sick or are in the restroom.I am not sure at times if one is better than the other. We were pleased with her report card 4 A's and 3 B+'2..Overall we feel we are doing something right with her and she makes up so proud with all that she is and can do.

Thanks for the input. We truly appreciate any help.
