    Childrens Gangs

, drugs, gangs, and violence near by. I a attended the fairly large group and wished I could step up and offer EFT

Today I have been a substitute teacher at a middle school. We have some beautiful new schools in this neighborhood in North Dallas, but there is also a lot of poverty, crime, drugs, and violence near by as well.  I have lived in this area and I have experienced first hand what goes on here. I have had cars stolen and I have been threatened with guns to turn over property. This has happened to friends in this neighborhood also. There are a large number of students here who are refugees from countries at war. Some of those families were in refugee camps without schools before they moved here.

After school there was a meeting of parents and school employees concerned about suicides, drugs, gangs, and violence near by. I attended the fairly large group of concerned adults and wished I could step up and offer EFT as a solution to the many problems here as well as hope for moving out of the dungeons of life.

I have been studing EFT for several year, I have a degree in Psychology, and I have worked in a large variety of educational settings. I believe in EFT, but my actual practice is limited especially with regard to these type problems. But I am willing to jump in, if only for the borrowing benefits. The need is here in a big way, but where do I start?

     Can you help?

All  suggestions, thoughts, and prayers will be appreciated.

PS  These thoughts just in: There is no listing in www.blogtalkradio.com  for EFT and Gangs. I think it would make an excellent program.

    Re: Childrens Gangs

    Hello Kenneth,

It sounds like the scope of possibilitities here in your community is endless. Also it strikes me (correct me please if wrong) that as they is so much potential, it becomes confusing where to start.

I have many, many possible suggestions for you. Perhaps it may be useful to keep things simple to start with and focus on a type of issue that you are knowledgeable on and a group of people that are more likely to be receptive. You can make the focus of a taster session for a small group and keep the topic limited to something like - Dealing with angry feelings(or a slightly more clever title). Even if it is only a small group to start with Iam sure that by sharing some of your knowledge and passion you can offer hope. Who knows where it could go?

In England, I run an exciting training programme for EFT practitioners who work with children and Young People. I am the Central coordinator. The programme covers so many areas that would have potential interest to you. Like, adapting EFT for all age groups/ issues/needs, working with eductors and children's organisations, legal and ethics, approaching organisations, building interest, etc. Some of the the material will be available for others shortly.

You and anyone else is welcome to sign up you interest in the EFT CYP(which stands for Children and Young People) forum which covers all the areas of application you mentioned.I will post the forum details on this site shortly for people that outside the UK and therefore maybe not aware.

In the meantime, hopefully some of this is useful. I'm sure that other people reading your post will share their best wishes and prayers and suggestions.
