    Why EFT for Kids?

    Why eft4Kids?

A few words about the name and the goals of these discussion Forums....

EFT is a practice for everyone. The evolution of this remarkable protocol has been richly illustrated through the many testimonials and case studies that have been shared by Gary Craig and the legions of EFT practitioners for over ten years. Among EFT’s successes are increasing numbers of instances where a child, a class, a team or a youth group was positively helped to deal with an issue. The promise of EFT is too significant to not embrace the need to heal in youngsters as well as adults and just as EFT can be an easy to learn, useful self help protocol for adults, it has the potential to become a self help tool for young people, if designed to be understood and used in terms they can understand and embrace.

Seasoned practitioners as well as many teachers and parents using EFT know the power it has to affect change in their children’s lives. Some go as far as to teach EFT and offer it as a self help tool for their children to use for themselves. Special interest books and other EFT support materials intended for children are becoming increasingly available as well. Parents, teachers, coaches and youth group leaders, as well as health care practitioners and therapists are encouraged to participate in eft4Kids. Separate discussion groups are created to steeer your comments and questions into those targeted groupings.

    eft4Kids Goals:
We believe it's time to initiate and proactively take EFT into the everyday lives of children and adolescents. We also believe in the necessity of providing accurate information about the practice and delivery of EFT for children. Eventually, we intend to launch an interactive web site that will appeal to young people seeking to apply EFT to address the issues important to their lives.

Our aim with eft4Kids is to establish a community where adults who work with, care for and are responsible for the health and welfare of young people can discuss and learn about the application of EFT for children while also helping to shape EFT into a viable tool, complete with its own language and practices best suited for use by many of those same young people and their peers.

Tapping into the existing EFT community:
This forum and the web sites and learning materials to follow will serve as a platform to both disseminate information about EFT as a protocol for use with young people as well as enabling EFT to become a resource for children, teens and young adults to use and share among themselves. The forums will welcome input on practices and case studies currently underway while we formulate plans for the creation and launch of self-help tools and support to be delivered via the EFT web site for young people. A parallel web site for parents, teachers and practitioners working with young people is also planned.

With your participation, we hope to take EFT into this exciting, challenging special interest area while providing everyone who cares about and influences kids with a community in which to voice your own questions, findings and perspectives.

    Welcome everyone!

Yes!!! EFT as a self help tool for young people may prove to be the ultimate application of this remarkable protocol. The young are in the best position to uncover and address their emotional and physical issues preventing what, for adults, often becomes a much longer purgatory of pain and difficulty that, through the use of EFT, could be avoided. Let's hope the word goes out along with the right support and training to the children.

Powerful statement, Eric. Thank you for your clarity and focus. As the school year approaches I find myself excited (and a bit overwhelmed) with the desire and task of introducing EFT into the school sytem.

I would love to hear from people who have done this- with perhaps an outline of who and how to go about this. I lived out of my native country for 9 years and am just returning. I am a US resident now.thank you
