    eft in the classroom

I am fairly new in EFT and have the opportunity to present it to the elementary school in my community. Any suggestions as how to best present it, with guidelines, handouts, sample exercises, etc. would be appreciated.  I will be presenting to the principal, reading specialist and several teachers.  I will have 45 minute block(s).

    thanks, Kim

Hi Kim I found a good website where EFT has been used in schools in Scotland. http://www.eftuk.org/efteducation.html If you have a look there, and email them, they may be able to give you some guidelines. I wish you well Vikki

    Hi, Kim,

What an awesome opportunity for you! I am sorry I am just now responding. I have been busy dealing with some family illness, but all is well at the moment.

If you have already presented, I would love to hear how it went. If not, I have a few suggestions for you.

The first thing I would do is go to www.emofree.com and look up some articles on using EFT for children's issues in school and make some copies for them to look over. A handout with the tapping spots and some information on EFT would be good. Teachers love information and handouts. : )

If you are in a state that mandates standardized tests as the criteria for pass/fail, you can point out that EFT is wonderful for helping students and teachers deal with test stress and anxiety which helps improve test scores.  EFT can be taught to children to overcome their fears about a particular subject, as well, also leading to improved learning.

To quickly demonstrate EFT's effectiveness to someone who is not familiar with EFT Rebecca Marina uses a couple of great techniques.

    1) Have them take a breath and release. Then have them take a deep breath, noticing how deep and full it seems on a scale of 1-10, and release. Have them write down their number. Then do some tapping on "Even though I have constricted breathing, I deeply and completely love and accept myself." After completing a round, have them take another deep breath, noticing how deep and full this one seems on a scale of 1-10. Most people will find some improvement, some will notice dramatic improvement.

    2) Have them identify an ache or pain, give it a rating from 1-10 & write it down. Then tap on "Even though I have this pain, I deeply and completely love and accpet myself. " Again, most people will note some improvement.

Personally, I like to acknowledge that doing EFT does look funny at first, but that it is actually based on the body's meridian system, as is acupuncture which has been used successfully for thousands of years. And EFT has the advantage of no needles!  After you experience its effectiveness, you don't even think about whether it looks funny or not!

    We would love an update!
