    Bug Phobia

I work with a 7 yr old girl with lots of "behavioral" issues.   she arrived in my office (during bug season, I don't use pesticides)  and started jumping aournd and yelling she was afraid of bugs (large black carpender ants)  .   We started tapping.  within 5 minutes she was at a 1.   She asked to go to the restroom and asked if I thought there would be bugs there,  I said there might be.  She went to the rest room alone ( I thought, for sure, she'd ask her mother to go with her).    As she returned, she said there were bugs in there and she didn't like it.  In a calm voice.   Her mother was IMPRESSED with EFT.   It was the first time I had used it on this client.  We use it every session now.

    Re: Bug Phobia

    Thanks for this message Cindy,

Tapping with this child has been great on so many counts. She has been able to empower herself and help her to feel calm while bugs are present. EFT and it's often instant results helps the child to learn quickly that they can help themselves feel differently about certain things. You did need to force her or make her reframe. Tapping done well is such a natural process and it felt good for that little girl.

With this kind of start it makes using tapping for her other issues easier and especially because it impressed the mum. This is particularly useful when you are working alongside a sceptical parent. EFT still works when scepticism is present in fact it can make the results seem really impressive when you are still are able to make big energy shifts with your client when it is present.

So well done, quite a few feathers in your hat that day!
