Thanks Jo Ann, great statements, Here is some feedback from a parent who felt desparate back in the summer months of this year.

UK Advanced Practitioner Christine Moran (and moderator on the eft4kids forum) was recently sent feedback from a client mum and daughter who wanted to share her experiences with other families who may feel stuck. Uncovering and clearing negative vibes for all involved was invaluable to help her beautiful baby with a severe food phobia. Many layers and aspects and stages where addressed in a number of sessions before baby was comfortable to feed orally for the first time in her life.

_______________________________________________________________ My beautiful daughter was born with a duct in the heart which should have closed at birth. Although it was healing and slowly by itself the western doctors recommended that a simple procedure be carried out so that it would definitely be closed for life – I was happy to along with this. For this minor operation to happen she had to be a certain weight. Her weight gain was slow due to the open duct in the heart. To achieve sufficient weight gain it was advised that she was tube fed. After the operation, which was very successful, my baby had become so accustomed to feeding via the tube during the previous 7 months that she was scared of trying to eat orally. By this I mean that she would not allow ANY food or drink to her mouth, even though she would happily put toys and any other non foods into her mouth such as dirty shoes if I wasn’t watching!! Many different approaches were used unsuccessfully. I had researched feeding clinics in America (costing £20,000) and in Austria, that we were about to sign up for them as our last resort. My baby girl had the tube inserted at 4 months old and her brother was born when she was 13 months (still being tube fed). I could not go to the feeding clinics until her brother was a month or two old. In the last few weeks before giving birth I had the thought of trying EFT. I was pretty sure that since there was no medical reason had been found as to why my daughter wasn’t eating, the problem was probably emotional. I searched the web and had a good feeling about Christine when I saw her picture on her website. She kindly came to me as I was heavily pregnant and feeding my girl via the tube every two hours. The hour after a tube feed I had to keep her reasonably upright and still so that she kept the milk down. Christine worked on me as much as my girl. Emotional issues that I did not realise I had, came out. When I cried, my baby girl would shuffle over and extend her arms to comfort me. My vibes were affecting her that was very clear. As the days passed and with each of Christine’s visit I felt lighter, issues were clearing. Heavy weights were being lifted. We had more fun and I saw the situation from a different light. Christine was fabulous with my baby, winning her affection and trust immediately. While we played, progress was being made. Christine has a wonderful, kind disposition. I recommend her so highly. Three weeks after the birth of my second baby, a son, I felt strong and determined enough to remove the tube from my daughter. Despite many previous attempts at feeding and removing the tube, I was determined this time it would work. On the same day that I removed her tube, this time my little baby decided to start eating. I am absolutely sure that my vibes had and still do affect my baby, and that Christine not only helped my baby but me too, to clear negative vibes that meant we could go forward emotionally cleansed. Three weeks after taking the tube out we went on holiday, there were many other parents there who obviously did not know the background. At almost every mealtime other parents commented on what a great eater my baby girl is and on a couple of occasions some parents asked if their kids could sit with us so that their little ones would copy mine! When you have been through something like this, and all that goes along with this, it is not so easy to explain everything on one sheet of paper, but when my friends at home see my baby girl eat, and when I tell the doctors who have been looking after us, they all say that what has happened is like a miracle. Thank you Christine.

EFT can help you and your family.

What I would recommend is surrogate tapping on yourself, as though you were your nephew. I have successfully used EFT with my 3 year old god daughter. Here is the story.

As Sue suggested, when you do it, you do it for your nephew's highest good. You don't even need to be with your nephew... You can pretend to be your nephew. You could say, "I am doing this for ___________'s highest good."

Then you want to imagine what the emotional issue could be... and just know that you can't do it wrong...

You set-up phrases could be, Even though:

I am having a hard time thriving, I am an awesome boy

I am having a hard time keeping things down I am a good boy

I am having a hard time being in this body, I am awesome

I have had a hard time stomaching ____________, I am awesome anyway

You can imagine what this little fellow is going through. If something comes to mind, just make it into a set-up phrase. While you are saying the set-up phrase you are tapping on your karate chop point on the side of your hand.

Then you tap on the points on your body for your nephew. You want to say your reminder phrase which could be something like, "weak stomach" or_______________.

After you do a round of tapping you could do a round with statements like:

this has been hard

everybody is worried about me

I haven't been able to get enough food to stay down

something has been bothering me

there has been something that I can't stomach

they say I have failed to thrive

I am under weight

maybe something emotional is causing the acid reflux

Pay attention to your intuition while you are tapping, and see if anything comes into your mind. If something does, tap on that, too.

After you get all of the negative stuff out, and you have tapped on it, you can start saying some positive things while you are tapping like:

I am Whole and Complete

I choose to be a healthy little boy

I choose to thrive

I am healthy

I am able to hold food down easily

I am calm

I am at peace

everyone is seeing me as healthy

If you are around your nephew, and he lets you, you can tap on him. Maybe you can make a game out of it. Or you could show him where to tap on a teddy bear or a stuffed animal.

I just had another thought. You can also tap on yourself for any doubts you have about:

not being able to do this right

not knowing how to do it

fears about doing it wrong

Stick with it!!! Know that you can make a difference.

Gratefully yours,

JoAnn

Re: Just learned about EFT, would like an example for helping (surrogate) nephew 17 months with acid reflux; failure to thrive

Hi SWest,

Welcome to the EFT4Kids forum. I am glad you found this forum. Once you learn how to use the process for yourself, it is simple to teach others. If you can get your nephew to do it himself, that would be ideal. That way he will have the tool available to use on other issues that he may want help with. When someone is not old enough, or does not want to do it, then you can surrogate tap for them. You simply acknowledge the problem or negative emotion and you tap on your own points with him in mind. You always surrogate tap for someone's highest good. When I first learned EFT I found it amazing, and when I surrogate tapped for my kids, was amazed to see the changes that resulted. As you get comfortable with the process and start using it for yourself, your family, and nephew, you will see what I mean.

You can also search this site for other posts with "surrogate tapping" tags.

Feel free to return with any questions or to post your progress.

Best wishes!

Just learned about EFT, would like an example for helping (surrogate) nephew 17 months with acid reflux; failure to thrive

Hello EFT4Kids,

I'm very interested and excited to begin using EFT for myself and my family. I am just beginning to learn the points and process. I'd like to learn how to share this for my nephew who is challenged with acid reflux and he is under weight and been labeled as failure to thrive. Any recommendations on the basics around surrogate EFT tapping for toddlers and appropriate NLP to use with these kind of symptoms and issues would be most helpful.

Thank you to anyone who can provide some help with this scenario.

-SWest
