I have been doing classroom guidance the past couple of weeks from K-5. I wanted to remind the students using about EFT this year. I took TappyBear with me, and it was fun to see how the students who have been here before (and already had met Tappy) responded. I had some of them explain to the new students what was so special about TappyBear. We ...

We are just completing our first full week back to school, and TappyBear has already been put into action. On the first day we had three kindergarteners who were not at all sure they were ready for the school experience, and were crying and proclaiming they wanted to go home in no uncertain terms! I introduced TappyBear, showed the students his ...

Hi Kat,
I really like what you are doing with the cartoon bubbles -- what a great way to elicit communication! And you obviously are building rapport which is critical in a case like this.
From the information you've gotten so far, I might try
Even though I don't know why I don't want to talk, I'm a great kid and I like ...

Hi Marina,
How wonderful that you have created the opportunity to take EFT into the school!
I would certainly stress the value of EFT in relieving test anxiety. It is ideal if EFT can be introduced early in the year to work on students' apprehensions about the subject matter. Some students already believe that reading or math is "too ...

Hi there, it's always so wonderful to hear from parents who are tapping with their children!
One of the things I encourage parents to do is to make tapping part of the "tucking in" ritual. Talk about "the worst" thing that happened each day and tap away any remaining negative charge, then talk about ...

Hi Kat,
I would encourage you to be "patiently perserverant." Sometimes we just have to keep doing what we know to do and trust that some things are happening internally that aren't yet visible. Continue to follow your intuition -- you never know when things might start to click into place.
I think it's great that you are ...

Judy, thanks for your comments. Teaching children to do EFT for themselves is one of the most empowering things we can do for them! I am currently at the Texas Elementary School Counsleor's Conference and will be presenting an EFT workshop in about an hour to fellow school counselors. I am so excited to be able to get this ...

That is so awesome! It is certainly easy to understand why your daughter developed a defense mechanism to protect herself. It always makes me sad when I hear stories like this...I know most teachers are dedicated people who love children and wouldn't consciously inflict such pain. It is amazing how powerful those early ...

Hi Beesmom,
Does your daughter have trouble remembering multiple directions in other areas of her life? For example, if you tell her, "Take out the trash, put your dirty clothes in the laundry room, and feed dthe dog," does she remember to do all three things without further prompting from you? Does she forget she has homework, to do ...

Excellent suggestions here, and I'm wondering how the handwriting is going...I would add that using TappyBear with the students to demonstrate the EFT is very motivating for the students to participate in the tapping. Sometimes I tap on Tappy, other times I will select a student to lead the class by tapping on Tappy. Sometimes I just pass ...
