    Tapping for Infants?

Hello there, I am totally new to this tapping and seem to be hesitating in trying it on "Everything" as I am not sure about what to say. Seems people are repeating the negative stuff all the time and I wondered if they ever reapeated positive stuff instead. Also . . . What is the tapping on the head and where on the head are they tapping? I ask because: Last week, my newborn grandson came over and we started out having a good time. Then he started crying allof a sudden and my son said he was being a bit fussy lately and attributed it to a belly ache. My husband patted him on the back and carried him around until he exhausted himself and finally fell asleep. I couldn't help but wonder if I could have tapped away his trouble. Does anyone have any experience with this type of thing? And since a baby cannot talk . . . what do you say when you tap? Thanks, Rebecca

    Hi Rebecca!

Most all of us get "hung up" or hesitant in what to say, as newbees. Loving, concerned expresssions

are always helpful and you could add whatever input from your son's expressions. "Even though, I am

a little bit fussy, because my belly aches, everybody loves me." Surrogate tapping works wonderfully,

    too.

Just talk and tap all your loving feelings, for him, on yourself. "You are safe! You are loved!

You are special! I am so sorry you are hurting!"

THE Head point is the top of the head, there are many acupoints located on our heads, my recommendation

would be to just gently use your palm of your hand and gently rub or touch lightly, actually tapping

    isn't necessary.

Another, recommendation from Gary, is to tap on your feelings & concerns, about Baby's (in this case) distress

first, clearing your own issues. Amazing, how helpful this is!

    Re: Tapping for Infants?

     Hey Rebecca!

I often tap on my puppy dogs, it's not the same, I know :-)

I do imagine I'm them, imagining what is hurting and what they are feeling.

I put a little video up at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zo5rb8uMBUM

    It might be of help.

    In the video I don't say the words out loud, but I used;

"This tummy ache" ,"Feeling sick", and  "Can't sleep".

I normally don't do the set-up  phrase with kids or animals, it seems they often don't need it.

    Hope this helps!

    Charlotte
